Florida Flyers FAA PPL

I have been to Florida Flyers in St Augustine and I found them excellent. As maximus610 says there are things to watch for like fuel surcharges and pre/post time etc but be sure to ask all these questions before you go.

I had asked all these questions in my shortlisting process and all was documented in my quotation so I was aware everything when making my final choice. To be honest they were clear about everything in their sales pitch and everything was as promised when I got there. Fuel surcharge had gone up considerably but this was always subject to change. I found them to be a very professional training school, with no hidden costs, no supprises or dissapointments. Friendly and very helpful staff too.

I would also echo what maximus610 says about study and preparation. I had studied in advance and sat knowledge test on arrival. Checkride and everything else was still tough and alot required in a short time. Examiner made sure all the I's were dotted and T's crossed so you got to know your stuff.

"Fail to prepare is prepare to fail " and often the flight school may inherit the blame.

Do your math with regard to costs before you go and be realistic with yourself about the hours of flight time and instuction you need. Nothing is worse than an unseen expense at a time when you are most vunerable and need to keep going.
