We need experts in each specialty to comment and engage, to educate the regulators about advances in their areas which mean pilots with these conditions can meet the risk requirements. Regrettably a pilot who has had a particular illness will rarely be able to make a persuasive argument for additional relaxation as the issue is population risk not individual outcomes.
