Yes, that's been the case for a long time and perfectly reasonable. Think it's a £2000 fine(?) on top of repatriation costs, plus a load of aggravation trying to recoup the expense from the pax.
Was specifically referring to domestic (and by implication, common travel area) travel, where it's a much more recent activity.
"Good old" BD is much missed, certainly on my part!
