During the refurb of the on base quarters at Bruggen, early 80's, local contractors laid fitted carpets in all houses. They were then told to remove 6" all the way around the AMQ carpets, as only OMQs were allowed to be fully fitted. Baffled contractors complied but left offcuts for occupants use.
