She was certainly on a Southern TV (programme called 'How' with Jack Hargreaves and Fred Dineage) late 70s/early 80s.
Carol Vorderman was at Cambridge Uni from 1978 - 1981. She was a co-presenter on 'How 2', but that was 1990 - 1996.
