Boeing never publicly comments during on-going investigations - none of the manufactures do. They are effectively under a gag order from the investigating authority.
They'll release general
PR stuff like "Boeing is assisting XYZ in their investigation of this incident", but never statements about what caused the event. That's the job of the investigating authority.
