If the FSDO says they can do it, why are you asking here?
There is a provision to add a type rating to 61.75 certificate. Too lazy to dig through the FAA web site but I believe your 61.75 IR has to be US TEST PASSED. Then if they (the FAA) are happy with your training records for the type they'll add it without a checkride.
