You are so totally right.
Ive seen TR+Line training packages of around 75-90K. JESUS.
This is totally sick. Even if that would be the last oppertunity to get a job, ( cannot even call it a job) I wouldnt do it. Because most of the situations, no salary , and after making your hours, you get kicked out, and some other IDIOT is lined up to take your seat. And in general, during your hours after line training, you are not even allowed to do TO and Landing. Just shut up and listen to the cpt. Push this and that button. Talk to ATC. Read Checklist. And thats it. So no obtaining of flying skills on that particular AC. So totally useless. Rediculous.
More people should take a look on this thread. And think about what they are actually are doing. Helping down the T&C's.
Paying for TR (no line training > Should be paid by airline ) is only acceptable if after training you will get a job for atleast 3 years and a salary where you can life from properly, and taking into account that you have a lot of responsebilities.
P2F should be banned. But sadly I think thats an Utopia
