with the a/c parked tail towards the families, they would not have appreciated the blast from the Allisons even in ground idle, nor the waft of Avtur that would have enveloped them. I recall in the early seventies repatriating bodies from the Oman, who all appeared to have died in 'car crashes' They were not afforded what has now become the usual honours. But my first recollection of the current ceremony is of the casualities from the various Ops in the Former Republic of Yugoslavia.
