So CX is all about the letter and spirit of the law.

Here's their crap about bribery. I wouldn't be too concerned. It's binding in honor only.

Cargo fixing
Illegal sackings
Not adhering to court judgements.

Good thing the board only ratified in May 2013.

Just imagine if they had this earlier.....

It is very important for you to be aware that acts of bribery and corruption are illegal. They are inexcusable and will not be tolerated at any level of our organisation.

Our company and its employees – meaning each of you – are subject to the laws which prohibit bribery and corruption. Each of us has a personal responsibility, when acting on behalf of the company, to take any and all necessary steps to prevent bribery and corruption. This is because, first and foremost, it is the right thing to do, and, second, because there are severe criminal, financial, and reputational consequences to any violation. Penalties can apply to the company and the individual.

To be very clear, Cathay Pacific has a zero-tolerance approach to the giving or receiving of bribes or corrupt payments.

Specifically, our policy states, in part, “Employees and others acting on the Company’s behalf must not, either directly or indirectly, offer, promise, agree to pay, authorise payment of, pay, give, receive, or solicit money or anything else of value to or from any third party in order to secure or reward the influence of the performance of a function or activity.”

Cathay Pacific has a long established Corporate Code of Conduct which prohibits giving and receiving bribes in any form. The Anti-Bribery Policy was endorsed by the Company’s Board of Directors in May 2013 with the instruction that it be implemented with immediate effect. It is essential that you ensure you know what is and is not acceptable by reading and complying with this policy. If you ever have any doubts on whether any conduct could amount to bribery, you should contact our Corporate Compliance Office (CCO).
