On the completion of a full time AME theory course you DO NOT need to be employed as an apprentice at all! You CAN be employed as one but you dont have to.
You just need to get a job where you can log enough relevant and range of experiences in your skills log to satisfy the minimums stipulated for that MEA***, range and variable. Once you gain enough you can get assessed buy an Australian Aerospace Assessor, then attend with your Transcripts of academic records from your training provider and your Skills log with the relevant MEA's assessed as competent to the provider and you will be issued a the Cert IV in aeroskills.

This is good for guys who want to dual trade i.e Structures/Mechanical or Mechanical/Avionics.
The core units (MEA1**) are already completed so there is no need to redo these Aeroskills common units.
