Footy was a statesman a great guy full of fun laughter and love for aviation. I've known him for 15 years and we always shared stories and general conversation on life!. He had a distinguished career over 35 yrs mustering and then with CH9 news and flew Kerry Packers S76 on a casual basis. He was a mans man no fuss just got on with the job and enjoyed every minute of it!.
Footy flew 47's mustering in the 80's, I once heard a pilot in the air the same time as footy exchanging pleasantries this said pilot was in a B47 and quoted its call sign, Footy said in reply she's a great machine I've got 7000hrs in it. The guy flying the 47 said "what 7000 in 47's" Footy said " No 7000 in that one your flying alone!"
Ill miss your split arsed turns foot and the great chats we had on the lounge at the heliport!.
