Question Auto Retraction of Landing Gear.

Hi all, I know this is crazy idea to have landing gear automatically retracted, upon lift off and recognizing positive rate of climb. But looking at AI technologies and kind of processing power we have for safety critical embedded systems, I feel automatic landing gear retraction can be implemented by auto flight systems. If A/P can control control surfaces, why not recognize positive rate of climb and retract landing gear automatically?
Want to understand if given a chance to design such a feature in autoflight system, what would be pilot's expectations and aspects the system should consider.
