Stitchbitch; I stand corrected -Mk 3 it is.of course. although in my day the Mk 3 did not have those black zips - nice shiny ones then, and the lady , had she turned up at a certain North Wales Training establishment in the 90s, would have had the pockets ripped from her Mk 14 flying suit as part of a super OM bar-room jolly jape...a real "ripping yarn" if ever there was one!
As for the AEA user trials that went on back then - they could be guaranteed to delay any project ad nauseum and the length of delay was usually in proportion to the number of aircrew involved. I.E. 1 aircrew person = 2 opinions, 2 aircrew peeps = 4 opinions and so on...
Mind you, if we (as engineers) wanted anything delayed we would send the file on round robin to the Air Staffs for comment ..Lost for months
