Apparently (varying unverified sources) the delay is due to a backlog with one of the 3 checking bodies AusCheck requests security information from.
Doesn't explain why some of us who applied after you got ours within a few days .. lol. I suspect it might have something to do with your name sounding similar to someone on the blacklist. lol. I have a friend whose name sounds similar to
Osama 'has been' Laden and every time he applies for a foreign visa, it takes twice as long as for most other people.
