Nuances tend to get lost here. What I should have emphasized is that the only pilots who make money at NAS are the ones that hold shares.
Years ago while Mr. Kjos was struggling a bit, some of the original guys took a paycut and in return received shares in the company. Smart move, the share price has skyrocketed since and they made out like bandits. Unfortunately those same guys ever since have had a vested interest in all of Mr. Kjos´ efforts in screwing everybody else, as their gain from rising stock prices outweighs any benefit they might get from an improvement in terms and conditions. They have no interest in a strong union, will never strike, and actually benefit from their non-share holding colleagues´ crappy contracts.
