One example - For 40 degrees C and 2000 ft Pressure height and at Maximum Landing Weight (Structural), One Engine Inoperative Approach Climb Gradients -

Standard A320 = 4.7%
Sharklet A320 = 5.2%

En-Route fuel saving = Approximately 4%

It seems that they work, even if the name sucks!
