Top Gun at Mirimar was created by graduates on exchange from the intense Air Warfare Instructors school in Lossiemouth, Scotland.

The original instigators included Lt Commander Dick Lord, Lt Cdr Paul Waterhouse and Cdr Doug Macdonald.
