An article in today's NY Times says:
Boeing said the two batteries on each plane would be sealed inside steel boxes that would limit the amount of oxygen nearby to minimize any chance of fire. (

As I have read posts on this thread, I recall some saying this is not true, that the reaction in the cells creates its own oxygen.
Which is correct?
