Hopefully Ryanair will fly to Cardiff. Subsidising and seasonality issues aside, Ryanair are a highly known, profitable and fast growing company. The overall benefits of a Ryanair base in Cardiff is indescribable.

Passenger numbers would soar, Cardiff would attract more media attention and the airport would be more known across Europe. Also, with LCC's being virtually non-existant in Cardiff, only really domestic and holiday charter flights, there is no competition that Ryanair will wipe out. It's a win win for the airport and Wales in general.

With Ryanair's new agreement with Bristol Airport meaning there's now only two based aircraft since they get better value for off-peak slots (which can only be taken in large volume by using aircraft based elsewhere since based aircraft require early morning peak time slots), may be an insentive for Ryanair to open a less restricted timetable and base aircraft in Cardiff. It's all well and good now, but how long will Ryanair want to grow at Bristol by lots of aircraft based abroad in order to get the cheapest slots? Cardiff Airport should use this to their advantage!
