I was there two years ago for the first time, stayed at the University of Oskosh. Shared a room with a mate. Simple students dormitory rooms, ours didn't have air condition. Bath and showers are on the same floor, not in the rooms.
It was incredibly hot those days. Expect to walk a lot in summer heat.
The area is huge.
Visiting airplanes are put together by type and category, so You'll find all lets say Piper Cubs in one place or old russian warbirds together in one place.
There is a shuttle bus going from the University campus to the airshow. Around the campus there are several pubs that also offer food like burgers with fries.
We were there also the day before the official opening (sunday) and visited the Oskosh air museum.
