In 2001 two F15s came to grief in the Cairngorms. The subsequent controversy over the role of the Controller was well reported in the press up here, as was the support said Controller received from a certain website called Pprune. I checked the website out, and became hooked.

Then, in 2007, there was the issue with Mole Valley Council and a planning application at Grays Lane. At the time I felt I had some background knowledge and experience to usefully add to the debate so I joined and began posting, and have done so occasionally ever since.

Being of a rebellious nature I also subscribe to Private Eye magazine. It is now routinely referred to in Parliament, as it seems to know what is going on and has some good answers before Parliament does. Do we ever envisage a time where the informed opinion and collective knowledge of Pprune will fulfill the same role with regard to matters of mil aviation (particularly, say, procurement).

Other than that, prune's mostly a cracking good read.

Rgds to one and all.
