Valid question, especially given that the AW189 and Bell 525 both went for the CT7. Two points to consider: firstly, the AW139's 'back to front' engine installation carries power losses of approximately 10% (hence the numerous upper deck heating issues); and secondly the PT6C-67E is about 7% more powerful than the -67C. It'll be interesting to see how the Chinese version (AC352) with the Turbomeca Ardiden 3 stacks up.

Don't believe a prior
firm order was ever placed - Bristow was one of the original 'launch customers' (along with VIH) back in 2008, at which time 111 LOIs were claimed, and has now followed Heli-Union, NHV and UTair in converting LOIs to orders.
