Sad news. Must say though that a trike would not be my preferred stead for ditching in, the vertical bar ahead of the pilot is perfectly placed to bash you in the face with the sudden deceleration, not to mention the control bar will generally smash back against you as the wing tries to keep going overhead. I know of at least one ditching overseas where the bar partially wrapped around the pilot, pinning him in his seat, where he drowned, having survived the initial impact
