I was in the process of asking the Lycoming man why I should buy his engine instead of rotax 912 - giving him an opportunity to sell it to me, when he decided it was more important to do something else. When you couple this behaviour with the rotten uninformative Lycoming website and the total lack of information about the mythical IO 233, then they can jam the engine up their proverbial.
By way of comparison, I can download the entire documentary suite for the rotax 912 iS from the web - installation, POH, maintenance, heavy maintenance and IPC - it's all there.
Oh, but I did pick up the condescending Lycoming brochure about not running lean of peak. That document implies we are all too stupid to be trusted to do it successfully.
