ROC-
"left-wing liberal losers that populate hollywood" - guess me now know where your colours are nailed.

Do you still not get my point? Whatever the political persuasion of the people involved (don't forget that some are very Right wing) buggering about with the facts of history, science etc. just makes the perpetrators look dumb. And if that movie is meant to be a big patriotic flag waver such as Top Gun or Executive Decision, the whole country gets tarred with the same brush. The mud sticks - plenty of people think that England (few know about Britain) is still living in the age of Pride and Prejudice or worse still, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves).

Unfortunately, it will only get worse as technology (real world and SFX) advances. Directors will do things because they can, not because it makes the movie better.

How about Independence Day as a stinker - when alcoholic cropy sprayer Randy Quaid brings down the baddies after just an hour's classroom time learning how to drive his F15?
