ButchFaggot......Having operated the BAK & ALA routes on 767s & DC10s for all the time they were Mainline BA routes at LGW I can assure you that BA cabin crew NEVER received any kind of "danger" money that you describe. On the Mainline Worldwide Fleet at LGW we have had our fairshare of "danger" routes eg Yemen trips in the early 90s during civil war, recent national strikes/major civil unrest in Venezuela, hurricanes in the caribbean every few years, civil unrest in Cote d'Ivoire......the list goes on, but have never received any kind of "danger" pay & the same goes for our colleagues on LHR Mainline fleets.
Granted, we are on a different pay regime to colleagues with regional/franchise operators (it's the same with franchises/regionals everywhere....not just BA), but we are definitely not a bunch of flying mercenaries with armour plated bar carts as you make out.
