The postings on the Jet2 thread about APD are simply wrong. Extra legroom in itself does not constitute a higher class of travel attracting the higher APD rate unless the seat pitch exceeds 40". If you have a separate class of travel with a cabin divider and/or other service differentiators, then it might be an extra class. However, as with Monarch's seats, the Thomson extra legroom seats don't get whacked with the higher APD rate.
