The basic Engine is assembled from seven primary units (Modules)
which can be removed and installed quickly. The Modules are
identified below:-
• LP Compressor Rotor (31)
− Contains 1 stage of Compressor
• IP Compressor (32)
− Contains 7 stages of Compressor
• Intermediate Case (33)
− Contains 3 Location Bearings (Thrust Bearings) and load
structure
• HP System (41)
− Contains 6 stages of Compressor, Annular Combustion
Chamber and a single stage HP Turbine.
• IP and LP Turbine (51)
− Contains a single stage IP Turbine and 3 stages of LP Turbine
• High Speed External Gearbox (61)
• LP Compressor Case (34)
from 744 -524 notes, although later I believe they refer to them as 01, 02 etc.
