Potential loss of seniority following spouse's overseas posting
I currently work for a UK long haul airline and my husband, who is in the Armed Forces, is currently being considered for an overseas posting, which due to family commitments would make it very difficult for me to commute.
If we move abroad for 2 years, I'm led to believe by HR, that upon my return to the UK, I would lose my rank and seniority (12 years+) and have to start again as initial cabin crew.
Has anyone else been in this position? Do any exemptions exist to support spouses of Service Personnel faced with this dilemma?
