Its a case of they do not get it. BRS offers in excess of 80 direct destinations. Now take the 1.1m which represents out and back so say 550000 one way spread across 80 routes = an average 6875 per route. If all of these routes operated from CWL as stand alone none would be operated it is just not viable even if the airport charged nothing. What Cardiff needs IS FOR THE WELSH ECONOMY TO RECOVER FIRST AND FOREMOST. A couple of months ago a Welsh Politician actually said that the economy failed twenty years ago and they have done nothing about it. Now they are going to buy the airport!
