District Allowance/Zone Rebate
Often confused.
The District Allowance was an allowance paid, with different rates for single employees or employees with a spouse and/or dependants. If you were employed before 1 Jan 2010, and you were entitled to District allowance under an award that gave you the allowance, and you're still with the same employer, then you are still entitled to it up until 31 Dec 14. If not you're out of luck.
The Zone Rebate is as Ixixly said, a rebate that you get back at tax time depending on how remote your base is. Although it's hardly worth bothering, with, you can fill in a Withholding Declaration have have a tiny bit less money taken out each pay.
