Well, I still can't see that app! Typed it in very carefully with hyphens, but it says it can't find it.
"There are no matches in Android Market for the search: Tape-a-Talk Voice Recorder."
I've got the downloaded file from you link on my PC and phone SD card, but don't know what to do with it.

What has cropped up is my discovery of dozens of apps. They're in the manage apps of the system, but not on the apps screen. Never knew they were there. The filter clearly shows the two I've loaded. So, when the phone has been doing masses of daft things
- which it doesn't do in England on the UK sim - could it be because factory loaded apps are running around inside?
