You don't need a cops nose to know that in a pursuit you are going to have to terminate for safety unless the helicopter gets here quickly. A crass statement that insults police officers everywhere. You always have a chance when the helicopter gets there quickly. Including for offenders making off. Every minute delay decreases the chance of success. Saying it would not have been a decent job if they can't accept a delay is total ignorance.
PS. It isn't a short delay either!
