My first thoughts are, if you need to find the software and practice the simple things that should be coming naturally to you, then you probably are in the wrong field because its not going to get any easier.
The compass/aptitude tests are to see if you have the basic abilities needed to progress. Maths and physics, short term memory, hand-eye co-ordination, multitasking, follow instructions. Trying to cheat their program's by practicing them will only do you harm because you haven't really learn the skills they are looking for.
As for getting hold of their software, they are all done in house so I doubt that they are available online or that someone has it for sale.
