Well, sort of. They want non-rated Captains for the 737 with
the chance to upgrade to the A380 if it eventually arrives as planned in 2014.
1500 hrs PIC on a RJ straight into the left seat of a 380? That's a huge step and I'm not sure I would be flying Skymark airlines during Typhoon season as a pax if that's the case.
And before anyone slates me I'm not questioning the abilities of RJ pilots or in fact anybody. I know all command time counts for something. Just having made the step-up from the LHS 737 to the LHS 777 I can say from experience that it's a huge learning curve.
Especially if you're doing it outside the US or Europe.
