The F100 is about the easiest, simplest jet to operate ever built. It is stone simple to fly and has a massive speed brake to get you out of trouble. Skywest had many issues with the type when they first acquired it, but Skippers seems to have some flexibility in how it recruits people so they may be able to avoid the pitfalls of a new type that so vexed XR.

Skippers may find crewing the F100 with experienced pilots quite easy, as long as the T&Cs are right. Network, apparently, had no shortage of highly qualified applicants when they got their F100s. There are currently plenty of endorsed people overseas who would either like to return to Australia (I know 2 off the top of my head)or get a 457 visa like the many ATR and SAAB pilots who have come in recent years.

The main issue with Skippers getting a big new type is if they have a market for it. The heat has come off in regards to the Mining Boom. Unless there are plans for expanding existing arrangements or something in the pipeline, this move may break the company.
