The license conversion involves both a flight test (check ride) by a DGCA inspector, as well ground theory exams (a composite CPL/IR exam covering topics such as Aerodynamics, Navigation, Systems, Weight and Balance, Met etc ). There are 2 radiotelephony exams .. one is written and the other is a practical oral exam using procedures and phraseology used in Indonesia. The flying requires 5 hours minimum, 10 hours max and involves general handling, circuits (short approach, short field approach and landing, low circuit, flapless etc), VOR, ILS and sometimes an NDB approach.

An new regulation came in to effect on 10th January 2013, that foreign pilots wishing to fly for an airline or charter company in Indonesia will need to have a minimum of 250 hours on type before the DGCA will validate or issue you with an Indonesian license.
