Career change to pilot - realistic? How much?

Hi people,

Basically I'm wondering what are the chances of a career change?

I'm 26, I have an MEng Aerospace Enginering degree with 4 years work in oil rigs under my belt. I have fair few hours under my belt of flying small aircraft - air cadets, RAF flying scholarship, local gliding club......however no PPL... :-(

Seriously what are the options I have presented to me at this age? I'm single, I own a house, no kids - no "real" commitments as such....I am UK based for the moment.

I've seen schemes like CTC, I've had some course friends from university who've completed these - what are the full costs involved? Would this is the way to go?

What about going modular? It is possible to keep my job and train? How does this fit in with what the airlines want?

I'm early in my research so any advice is greatly appreciated. :-)

Thanks
