It's not as easy as it sounds to fix Shed, I only wish it were.
What happens is that the email marketing team are dependent on the back end developers making sure that one's preferences are captured accurately and maintained. However anytime the company migrates the database, there's always a balls up in the logic. My last company lost some 6000 subscribers due to one SQL dev ( in India of course) not having his work QA'd before it went live. There was no way back and many of my colleagues who were paid on commision lost a large % of their contactable base. It only takes one poor link in the chain and it all goes to pot.

The only way to fix it sometimes is to email and create merry Hell. It will be passed on eventually and it can be fixed manually, however if you just fix it on the website, the logic *may* not update your settings. Yes it's rubbish, it is sadly not uncommon. If you are still keen, write some emails to them, it does work occasionally.
