keesje,
I think it really sad when folks use history to justify their arguements especially as these sad individuals are very selective in how far back they go to justify their cause.
How far back are you looking to determine the ownership of those islands?
Do you believe in democracy and letting the living decide their rights to live? Or are we going back to a single specific date you have selected to try to justify a dispute that clearly goes against the will of the great majority of the living.
How about we let the living simply vote on what they feel is best for them? Let them vote in a form of leadership, let the leadership decide national policy.
You give the appearance of wanting a much larger nation simply walk into any smaller country and take it over? Not something that has ever been popular and civilised countries tend to object.
My vote is to let those on the Falklands decide their own destiny, if it is as an independant state then so be it. If it is to become a part of Argentina, then so be it. It should be up to the living to cast their vote and that vote should be respected by ALL nations.
