I think at that time he was still trying to figure out what was going on (as would I) by the time i think he says "i gotta put this down" he was well past the runway, had a clear field and no reason to turn back. I think he did all right. Me i have a golf course and a beach ahead of me when i'm normally taking off... well prepared mentally for where i will go.
