Why not station a platoon of tanks on the Islands? And a battery of 105 or 155 field artillery? Deterrent effect
In the case of MTB's and 155mm. We don't have then down there for the same reason we didn't use them in 1982. The place is one massive Peat Bog that cannot support their weight. The Argies did deploy 155mm, but couldn't move them anywhere outside of Stanley.
