Why shocked,is not a God given right to a interview/test,perhaps they thought your application wasn't strong enough at this time.Be humble,and review what you wrote,ask for help and maybe you'll spot what has gone wrong,then show some resilience and reapply in a year time.They will like the fact that you took your time to review your mistakes and improve on it.
Some people will perceive your "shock" as an arrogant approach to it,as you really believed they HAD to give you an interview,makes people wonder what you wrote on those application questions.Not giving you a slap on the wrist,but Take it as a learning curve and get on with it
