Same lever, but Douglas products (DC8, DC9, MD80, DC10) use a different lever underneath the flap handle for Slat retraction only.
It has to be pushed forward prior to moving the flap handle to the full up (slats retract) position.
Supposed to be a guard against inadvertent retraction.
