A nasty scenario is the handling of an in-flight (smoldering) fire behind one of the panels in the cabin. A sketch:
- Some smoke enters the cabin
- CC starts looking for source of smoke
- CC removes correct panel and applies fire extinguisher
- Fire is sufficiently down to allow safe landing, but still generates smoke
- Crew evacuates smoky plane (with only a meter visibility inside the cabin)
Subtle points:
- Effective communication by CC while wearing smoke hoods
- Finding the fire
- Flight crew planning for immediate landing, while collecting relevant information from CC
- FC communication with ATC
- Proper evacuation
Add some "panicked" passengers to distract the CC to add to the difficulty.
