ZFT, my bad. your right about Thailand taxes "only" being 37% and you're right also, that it isn't a bad deal with everything considered. I just bagged everything together, like the 100%+ tax I paid on my new car, the 35% tax on the 200 canes I purchased and brought in for the blind school or the 50% tax on the 6 micro-scopes I brought in for my daughters school. Not to mention the continuous "road tax" I pay to our men in brown when I drive through town. And don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, it's just part of living here and there are some really good deals that help to even things out.
