I suspect his argument is that the man has been well rewarded for his success, and will now become a multi-millionaire. Quite right too - he deserves it.
But 'honours' should not be about 'success', but 'service'. It should be about years of effort with little or no reward, and for the benefit of our society. Not about winning more gold medals than anyone else, hosting 'Strictly Come Dancing', or having three thousand platinum discs to your accountant's credit.
Service. Service is what should be recognised. And it isn't.
