If every time a couple of staff left from an airport signalled its closing, there would not be many airports left. The staff have been replaced, the Fire Cat has been maintained at the published levels and refuelling has not be disrupted.
Nobody is pretending the airport is as busy as it would like to be but away from Christmas holidays etc, business traffic is up and there is plenty of training traffic when the weather is anything like decent.
