Nuovomondo,

What exactly is your experience?

I hope you are a chief pilot looking for somewhere to train crews?

In which case Isle of Scilly Skybus are a TRTO for the Twin Otter. But they are very unlikely to do a rating for a private individual.

If you are a low houred JAA pilot, then both types will be a complete waste of time for you. The turbine version of the Islander does require a rating.

For AOC work as it is single pilot aircraft, no one will touch you on a piston islander with less than a 1000 hours and 200 multi. For the turbine version most operators will want 1500 total with 500 multi. Although drop zones require less experience for Islanders; it is more than likley that anyone flying an Islander at a drop zone will have completed a season of para dropping in some kind of piston single first.

Most twin otter operators I am aware of have their own TRTO status, hence will train their own crews therefore tend not to be in the market of selling ratings to private individuals. As most Otters are used in "bush" locations then most of these operators will probably look to recruit pilots with a season or two of single engine bush flying experience.

Anyway if you are a seasoned air taxi pilot accept my apologies, but if you are a low houred fresh qualifier I would suggest you haven't really done your research.
